about

First recording of five psychedelic folk covers. The rhythms are both gentle and swaying. The acoustic guitar creates the backbone of the tracks, around which the lyrical flights of the vocals and the ethereal of synthesisers flutters in joyful harmony. The guitar is sometimes light, sometimes heavy, but always danceable. The simplicity of the instrumentation leaves plenty of room for the voice and its flights of fancy.
The ensemble questions the impact of our wounds when we leave them the free field of unconsciousness, their chimerical mirror affecting our vision of ourselves, sometimes rightly questioning it, sometimes agitating it ; isolation, sadness, difficulty of human interactions and of enduring the violence of this world ; the traumatic cycles, the cycles of experienced violence that come back until we become aware, elastic cycles that make us explode into pieces and crash into the sea at regular intervals. The need to become aware of these cycles in order to free ourselves from them and rise. A self-reflection.
It's also a study of the musician's particular perspective, the place occupied, questioning the act of interpreting something that has been composed and produced by another artist. It also speaks of the pleasure of "sauvageonessing" this pieces. The joy of singing them differently, bringing a singular point of view to these beloved works, having accompanied periods of life ; listened to over and over again. The pleasure of bringing them back to life through one's own expressive point of view.
Of course, you'll also find the interpretations you want, and the whole can be reconstituted as you wish.
The album was released in 2022 by Charogne Records on digital and CD. It was recorded by Sauvageoness. First the guitar and vocals, then the rest of the instrumentation was recorded in the studio.
